CAVE Generations Strong Video

CAVE's mission is to provide Chico State students with meaningful volunteer opportunities, to develop student leaders, and to service a broad base of community needs. Our philosophy is that the community should be a classroom for hands-on learning, and our motto is "Life is for Learning." - Testimonials
Established in 1966, our student-led programs serve children, older adults, and people with special needs, and work on projects with animals and the environment. Annually, more than 2,000 students provide 60,000 plus hours of community service through CAVE!

A CAVE volunteer or service learning experience gives students a chance to:

  • Make new friends
  • Explore career and personal interests
  • Develop job skills
  • Increase self-confidence
  • Enrich your education
  • Make a difference for others and in the community
