Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE) is a student-led, non-profit volunteer organization, offering you more than 15 diverse volunteer programs.

CAVE's philosophy is that the community should be a classroom for hands-on learning and our motto is "Life is for Learning" - Testimonials

Established in 1966, our student-led programs serve children, senior citizens, animal shelter, Downtown Chico, low-income residence, the environment, and weekend immersion trips to State parks and institutions through Northern California.  Annually, more than 2,000 students provide 60,000 plus hours of community service through CAVE!

A CAVE volunteer or service learning experience gives students a chance to:

  • Make new friends
  • Explore career and personal interests
  • Develop job skills
  • Increase self-confidence
  • Enrich your education
  • Make a difference for others and in the community
