Daniel Joseph Griffin

I am a fourth-year Pre-Graduate Philosophy student, picking up certificates in both Paralegal and Alternative Dispute Resolution studies before going to law school. I take interest in the legal side of environmental debates, and hope to bring a new perspective to the other voting members while learning as much as possible about sustainble practices. My involvement in the EAC was a fluke, and I could not be happier with the way things turned out! Now that I am a voting member, I both influence and help determine the course of compus-wide environmental policy on behalf of the student body. By working with a group of highly-skilled and motivated peers, we are able to change the face of CSU, Chico into an image that we can all be proud of.

Eli Goodsell

Eli is currently the Recycling Operations Coordinator for the Associated Students at CSU, Chico.  In the past 4 years Eli has helped lead AS Recycling to significantly increase the amount of material collected and recycled on campus.  Eli has played an integral role in the Associated Students adoption and implementation of a Zero Waste goal by 2015.  He is completing a Masters Degree in Environmental Policy and Planning at CSU, Chico which he will finish in the Fall of 2011.  When not on campus, Eli provides sustainability consulting services for large events and festivals in Northern California.

Sarah Pike

Sarah M. Pike, Ph.D., Professor of Religious Studies and Director of the CSUC Humanities Center, is a faculty advisor to EAC. She teaches courses on American religions, religion and global issues, and critical animal studies, all of which include sustainability and environmental issues. She has written two books on contemporary Paganism and is currently writing a book about religion, youth culture and radical environmental and animal rights activists.

Janelle Wallace

Janelle Wallace is a third year Business Administrations major with an option in management. She also has minors in: Managing for Sustainability,
Communication Studies, and Project Management. As a non-voting member of the Environmental Affairs Council, she acts as the Events Liaison by planning events that focus on team cohesion. Janelle is passionate about
environmental issues and is involved with many groups on campus. In addition to the Environmental Affairs Council, Janelle is the President of CSU, Chico Net Impact, a sustainable business organization and is also a member of the Student Leadership Council and Sustainability Collaborative.

Alan Rhodes

My name is Alan Rhoades.  I'm currently a fourth year student majoring in Environmental Science: Option in Atmospheric Science.  As the Associated Students Commissioner of Environmental Affairs I am the chair of the Environmental Affairs Council (EAC).  As the chair, I help to envision, facilitate, and lead the EAC towards achieving our set goals.  I enjoy the EAC because it allows me to voice both mine and the student bodies vision regarding sustainability related initiatives.  Working with like minded peers on the EAC keeps me refreshed, rejuvenated and allows me to excel in and out of the classroom.  I take pride in the fact that I am able to bring about real sustainable change within both the Associated Students and the CSU, Chico campus.  Please join us at our next meeting and you can see what I'm talking about!

Nigel Bocanegra-Speed

My name is Nigel Bocanegra Speed. I am a freshman studying Political Science here at Chico State. I joined the Environmental Affairs Council this semester so I am new to the group. I love being a part of the EAC because it has allowed me to get involved with the Sustainable movement on campus and to meet great people who are doing some amazing things. I am helping promote a program sponsored by the EAC called Stewards of Sustainability. This program is targeted towards freshman who are interested in learning more about sustainability and want to help make a difference. Stay Green Chico!

Natalie Lessa

Natalie is a passionate Environmental Health Science major.  She is interested in changing the way people think about Sustainability-related issues, with her main focuses on alternative transportation, waste reduction, and land preservation.  As part of the EAC, she represents the voice of her colleagues in environmental issues on campus.  One of her main focuses is getting people involved and encouraging the student body to speak their voice.  In her free time she enjoys hiking Upper Bidwell, taking her dog "Posey" on long walks and cooking.

Ted Cahill

Ted Cahill, Environmental Science: Atmospheric Science Option. I'm also interested in earning certificates in Hydrogeology and GIS. This is my first semester with the Environment Affairs Council and second semester with Net Impact. I appreciate the opportunity provided through both of these groups to be a part of the solution. It is a great experience to be part of such a passionate and knowledgeable group of world changers.

Anirudh Nayak

I am majoring in Business Administration, Marketing, with a minor in Managing for Sustainability, and certificates in Project Management, SAP, and Professional Sales. I have gained a diverse array of experience through many programs, including a leadership internship with A.S. Sustainability, being campaign manager for Power Vote, a Guru in This Way To Sustainability VI, Director of Marketing for Net Impact, sitting on the Environmental Affairs Council and Legislative Affairs Council, and working with A.S. Recycling.

Being a part of the Environmental Affairs Council (EAC) has been a mutually beneficial situation. The EAC has served as a motivational tool for me, and in return I take on as many projects as I can for the betterment of the council. Currently I have worked on the Green Events Guide, and am also Stewards of Sustainability Leader. I hold the EAC very dearly to me, as it was one of the first projects I took on as a transfer student. I look forward to seeing the EAC continue to effect sustainable change.
